To Norway...in a time of sorrow

 After hearing the shocking news of the attacks in Norway yesterday, my heart went out to all my Norwegian friends. I know this is a devistating moment in history for this nation. As Norway is so small in population, it leaves no way for anyone in this nation to have not been impacted or know someone close that was involved in some way. I went to the Lord in prayer asking Him what His thoughts were in this. He led me to His Word....

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Isaiah 43:1-5

1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.....

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

John 16:33

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

Psalm 27: 1-5

1The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
2When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,and
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
4One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
5For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

    Your song "Norway" has been really encouraging to me in this season. And I find that God can turn this to something good. Never before have I experienced that the people of Norway have had this strong sense of community. I think God have plans for this thing, and I feel that something possitive is coming out of this. It already has, but I feel that God isn't done yet. I think he will do great things to norway now! Thanks for your prayers and the encouraging verses!
